What is included in OPA SI PASS
Seven sites of Siena Cathedral with one ticket
The OPA SI PASS opens up seven historic sites within the monumental complex — from the cathedral to the view from the Facciatone. You have three days to visit each site once.
Siena Cathedral
The 13th-century Gothic cathedral, featuring works by Donatello, Michelangelo, and Pisano. The iconic black and white marble band is the heart of Siena.
Piccolomini Library
Pinturicchio's frescoes depict the life of Pope Pius II in ten scenes. In the centre of the room stands the famous sculpture of the Three Graces.
St. John's Baptistery
Located directly below the cathedral's choir, with the magnificent baptismal font by Donatello, Ghiberti and Jacopo della Quercia.
Crypt
Rediscovered in 1999: medieval frescoes from the 13th century with scenes from the life of Christ, buried for centuries and therefore astonishingly well-preserved.
Museum of the Works
Sacred art from eight centuries — the highlight being Duccio di Buoninsegna's Maestà, as well as works by Giovanni Pisano and the Lorenzetti brothers.
Faciatone (Panorama)
Viewpoint on the unfinished facade of the New Cathedral. Breathtaking view over the rooftops of Siena and the Tuscan landscape.
Oratorio San Bernardino
The Oratory with the Diocesan Museum displays Sienese painting from the 13th to the 19th century — works by Sano di Pietro and Ventura Salimbeni.
Digital audio guide
Also included in the OPA SI PASS package: the smartphone audio guide takes you on a tour of all the sites within the complex. The instructions are provided with your booking confirmation.
Seasonal highlight
The marble floor is only exposed for a few weeks a year.
The Cathedral's famous marble inlaid floor consists of 56 mosaics, created by around forty artists between the 14th and 16th centuries. For most of the year, parts of it are covered with protective panels. The floor is fully visible for only a few weeks.
Visible marble floor 2026
- 27 June to 31 July 2026
- 18 August to 15 November 2026
During these weeks, a special entrance fee applies. We particularly recommend visiting at these times because the floor is considered one of Italy's most significant works of art.
This is how it works
From online purchase to entering the cathedral
Book online, receive voucher by email, redeem at the ticket office, 3-day access to the entire complex.
Book online
Check availability on GetYourGuide, select the date and set the number of tickets. Payment by credit card, PayPal or Klarna.
Voucher via E-Mail
Immediately after booking, you will receive the confirmation with the voucher via email. Saving it on your smartphone or printing it out are both sufficient.
Redeem voucher on-site
Exchange the voucher at the official ticket office in the Cripta del Duomo (San Giovanni steps) for the Monumental Complex paper ticket. Reserved customers skip the regular queue.
Three days' access
From the day of redemption, you have 3 days to visit all seven sites – Cathedral, Crypt, Baptistery, Library, Museo dell’Opera, Facciatone, and Oratory. Each site once.
Important: The voucher does not serve as a paper ticket. The ticket office is located at the entrance to the crypt, not at the main entrance of the cathedral. Knowing this will save you queuing at the main entrance.
Practical Travel Tips
This is how the visit becomes relaxed
-
Start early
Queues often form outside the cathedral in the morning. If you collect your OPA SI PASS ticket immediately after opening at 10:00 (peak season) or 10:30 (off-peak season), the complex will be at its quietest.
-
Download the audioguide app in advance
The digital audio guide is a separate app. Installation instructions will be sent with your booking confirmation. Wi-Fi reception within the cathedral is limited – it is best to download the app and its content beforehand using your home or hotel Wi-Fi.
-
Recommended order
Redeem your voucher in the crypt — this will automatically start your tour at the bottom. From there, proceed to the baptistery, then up to the cathedral and the Piccolomini Library, followed by the Museo dell’Opera with its view of the Facciatone, and finally Oratorio San Bernardino.
-
Getting to Siena
The cathedral is located in the historic centre and is not directly accessible by car. Recommended car parks are Parcheggio Duomo (Siena Ovest exit) or Parcheggio Il Campo (Siena Sud).

The most important things summarised in one paragraph. Everything went like clockwork with no waiting times.
The cathedral is impressive. The signage for the individual entrances could be better. You always have to search a bit.
Well worth a visit – with the OPA SI PASS ticket, you can visit the cathedral, the baptistery, the crypt and the museum.
The cathedral is overwhelming. With the reservation, you could skip the queue at the ticket office. For the audio guide, an extra app needs to be downloaded – best to install it beforehand.
